HILL, ESQ., LATE MAYOR OF THE CITY, AND PRESIDENT OF THE LATE BANK OF MADISON. Madison: W.S. Main, 1874. 8vo, contemporary brown half morocco with marbled sides; spine ruled and lettered in gilt. 18 pages. Binding rubbed; later owner’s ink stamps; very good. A very scarce 1874 catalogue published in Madison, Wisconsin, itemizing the collection of James L. Hill and soliciting bids for the entire collection. The introduction, by W.S. Main, is dated July, with bids to be received by October 1. Attinelli page 97 (listed under Hill): “The collection was sold to Mr. F. Haines, of Biddeford, Maine.” Ex Isaac F. Wood, with his signature on the title; ex Wayne Homren Library.
