Binding slightly rubbed; else fine. The very scarce descriptive catalogue of a collection that was sold two years later at auction by Rollin et Feuardent. Joseph-François Laugier (1828–1901) was a gifted artist in addition to being a knowledgeable numismatist, and he engraved the plates from which the lithographs were made to illustrate the present volume. The R&F catalogue is unillustrated, making this less commercial effort all the more important. Laugier was keeper of coins at the Marseilles cabinet.
