Four text volumes and four plate volumes, complete, as bound in four volumes, with the text of Volumes I and II, the plates of Volumes I and II, the text of Volumes III and IV, and the plates of Volumes III and IV bound together. Small 4to, later matching tan quarter morocco; hand-lettered spines with five raised bands; decorative endpapers. Frontispiece portrait; xi, (3), 292 + (4), 171, (1), (4) + (4), 177, (1), (4) + (4), 146, (4) pages; 154 fine plates of coins. Bindings rubbed; contents untrimmed and near fine. A most important collection, formed by the noted numismatist Honoré-Théodore-Paul-Joseph, d’Albert, duc de Luynes and housed in the Cabinet des Médailles of the Bibliothèque Nationale. Rarely offered complete. The first volume covers Italy and Sicily; the second mainland Greece and the Islands; the third Asia Minor and Phoenicia; and the fourth Syria, Egypt, Libya, Carthage, Mauretania, Zeugitana, Numidia, and Cyrenaica.
