Perugia, 1942. 4to, later brown full morocco; spine with four raised bands, lettered in black; brown endpapers. xxxi, (1), 202 pages; 7 superb mounted photographs depicting ancient Greek, Roman and Byzantine coins, Italian coins, engraved gems and jewelry. Signed by Michele Baranowsky with his “Omaggio” stamp. Signed by L. Forrer. Binding a bit rubbed; near fine. A rare catalogue and an important photographic record. The text features an Elenco delle opere fondamentali; a description of coin grading; a listing of important European auction sale catalogues featuring ancient Greek, Roman, Italian, Papal and other coins; followed by a catalogue of over 2600 items, with printed values exceeding 1.2 million lire.
