Text somewhat foxed, as usual; plates remarkably clean. Gift inscription on opening blank. Bindings slightly rubbed, but sound. Near fine. A complete set of this scarce classic work, still worthy of a place in a numismatic library. The text volumes are the first edition; the plates were issued many years later. Included is an excellent bibliography of the principal works on ancient numismatics published up to that time, comprising 253 titles, and including an alphabetical index of authors.
