A rare museum catalogue, only the second copy we have offered in decades. Babelon writes, “In 1829, Brother Louis Haller published a catalogue of the collection at Berne, which was significant for the way in which it had been created. It began with 1,500 Roman silver coins, which were found in 1602 near the village of Kernenried. In 1808, the town bought around 2,000 coins from Louis Haller; and finally, in 1827, Frederick Tscharner bequeathed to the Berne Cabinet his collection of around 4,400 coins” (page 139). Leitzmann 53.
