Frossard, Ed. CATALOGUE OF A LARGE AND VARIED ASSORTMENT OF UNITED STATES AND FOREIGN SILVER AND COPPER COINS, INCLUDING A CHOICE SELECTION OF CROWNS AND DOUBLE CROWNS OF THE SIXTEENTH CENTURY.... New York: Bangs, April 1, 1882. 8vo, original printed paper covers. 33, (1) pages; 647 lots; 2 fine heliotype plates. Printed on thick paper. Hand-priced in ink. Ink stamp of A. Wuesthoff on front cover. Near fine Adams 20, with plates. Rated B overall and A for France and Germany. Only the second time Frossard used photographically printed plates to illustrate a catalogue, making available an edition of 50 copies printed on thick paper with two heliotype plates. He ended up including photograph plates in seventeen of his catalogues. While Sale 20 would be considered one of the more common plated Frossard catalogues, it has been over a decade since we offered a stand-alone copy in one of our auctions. Davis 402.
