Bullowa (1912-1953) was a very well-regarded numismatist who began his professional numismatic career with the New Netherlands Coin Company before branching out on his own after acquiring the inventory of Ira Reed in 1946. His early death was considered a great loss to the hobby. His business was continued by his wife Catherine, who established a remarkably long-lasting business that continued for decades after.
