American Numismatic Society. NUMISMATIC NOTES AND MONOGRAPHS. NOS. 1-161. New York, 1920-2079. One hundred sixty-one volumes, complete for the period covered. Nos. 1-109 are sextodecimo in printed card covers; Nos. 110-161 are octavo in printed card covers. Condition varies, but is generally near fine. A complete set to 1979 of this most important series of specialized monographs, written on a wide variety of numismatic topics. Many of the early titles are scarce and sets have become increasingly difficult to complete. Particularly rich in works on ancient coins, the series also includes a number of titles on medieval and modern numismatics, American coins, orders and decorations, coin hoards, and other topics. Many if not most titles remain standard works in their respective fields.
