Heavily annotated through by Syd Martin, and of considerable interest to the specialist. Martin was one of the most serious collectors of these intriguing pieces, and amassed an extensive collection of them. His annotations in this copy are equally extensive, and record pieces in his collection as well as coins he owned that do not fit neatly into Vlack’s catalogue. These additions to the corpus of known varieties make this a valuable, if unpublished, supplement to Vlack’s own groundbreaking work.
