Three fragments of a typewritten letter from Breen to Bowers, elucidating some of his comments, laid in. Front flyleaf torn, else fine. An important copy of this popular work, including Walter Breen’s annotations intended to be included in subsequent printings. Breen’s notes are extensive, making many changes to the historical background and the sections on colonial coinage (though his comments elsewhere are also numerous). Very interesting material.
