Inscribed in the first volume by the author to R. Hobart Smith; laid into the final volume is a handwritten unsigned note from the author presenting it to Hobart Smith, dated 1 March 1905. Ex ANA Library, with interior markings to endpaper and library cards on rear pastedowns, but without exterior markings or marks to the plates. Very good. Rarely offered, either in original form, or, as here, in the limited offprints issued during the same period. This three-volume set of the offprints was prepared by the author and distributed to a small number of associates; it does not include the final two parts of the series.
