Ján Janovic, CSc. was born on April 22, 1925 in Veľko Bysterec, currently a part of Dolné Kubín. He studied at the Business Academy in Martin and later continued his studies at the Agricultural University in Leningrad, which he graduated in 1954. From 1963 he headed the Research Institute of Agricultural Economics in Bratislava, and from 1967 he was also deputy commissioner of agriculture and nutrition. He was the Minister of Agriculture of the Slovak Republic in the years 1969 – 1985. Ing. Since 1987, Ján Janovic has been extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of the Czechoslovak Republic in Canada. He died in 1995.; original name: Rad Vitezneho Unora; Condition-I
