Gold (.917) and Silver; Victoria; The Golden Jubilee of 1887 was celebrated on 20th June 1887 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Queen Victoria's accession on 20 June 1837. Against this background, the Royal Mint issued a small number of special sets of gold and silver coins. There were 11 coins in this set, the two-pound piece making its first appearance in 56 years, and the silver double florin being seen for the first time!
