Brunei Independence Medal (Pingat Pengisytiharan Kemerdekaan) 1984
Circular gilt metal medal with scroll and laurel-leaf-decorated ribbon suspension bar; the face with the head and shoulders portrait of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah in military uniform facing right, circumscribed with his name; the reverse with a star and crescent centrally above crossed swords and below a parasol, symbol of the Sultan’s power, all within a ring with an inscription in Malay characters and dated ‘1984’; two slight contact marks to the reverse, probably from wear; on original ribbon mounted for wear. The medal was instituted on 1 January 1984 to mark the independence of the State of Brunei. Condition II.
