Judaea. Herod the Great, 40-4 BC. AE 4 Prutot.
16.5 mm. Weight: 2.98 gm.
Dated year 3, 38-37 BC.
Obverse: Shield with decorated rim.
Reverse: Crested helmet flanked by date and monogram.
Very fine. Struck on the flan of 2 Prutot. Very rare.
Meshorer 45b var; Hendin 1170 var.
