★ Interesting graver's mistake ★

Judaea. Herod the Great, 40-4 BC. AE 8 Prutot.

23 mm. Weight: 4.59 gm.
Dated year 3, 38-37 BC.
Obverse: Military helmet, facing, with cheek pieces and straps, star above flanked by two palm branches.
Reverse: Tripod, ceremonial bowl (lebes) above, date LГ and monogram TP in field left and right. Letter O apparently was missed by graver and engraved later outside of the inscription line.
Choice very fine. Very interesting example.
