Rx: NIN [C]OL - CLA - UΔI around, OPOLI in exergue, Four-columned temple containing statue of emperor standing left. Ex Berk 52, 22 Feb. 1988, lot 295. Our coin may show the original state of the obverse die: bare-headed portrait, and names Julius, Verus, and Maximus, for Maximus Caesar. SNG Levante 619-620, however, seem to show the same obverse die, but altereded for use as Maximinus Thrax: laurel wreath added to the portrait, and name Maximus changed to Maximianus.Countermark in right field. aVF
