THEODOSIUS II, AD 401-450. Solidus, Constantinople, about 430-440. AV 4.48 g. DN THEODO - SIVS PF AVG Cuirassed, facing bust of Theodosius, wearing crested helmet, holding shield in his l. hand, shouldering spear with his r. hand. Rev. VOT XXX - MVLT XXXXΘ / CONOB Constantinopolis, wearing long dress and crested helmet, seated three-quarter l. on throne with high back-rest, holding sceptre with her l. hand, globe cruciger on her r. hand, her r. foot placed on a prora; shield at side; in field r., star.
