COINS OF THE ROMAN EMPIRE.
PROBUS, AD 276-282. Aureus, Siscia, about 279. AV 6.37 g. IMP C M AVR PROBVS PF AVG Draped, cuirassed facing bust, head turned l., wearing laureate, crested helmet, holding spear in his r. hand, round shield covered with aegis in his l. hand. Rev. P - M TRI - P / COS III Emperor, laureate, driving slow triumphal quadriga r., holding sceptre surmounted by Victory on his raised l. hand.
Of the highest rarity, only two examples known. Almost uncirculated
