CARIA.
KNIDOS. Drachm, about 465-449. AR 6.16 g. Forepart of lion r. with open mouth. Rev. Head of Aphrodite r., wearing ear pendant and necklace, pearl diadem in the hair, which ends in a plait in the back; incuse square. Cahn 49, 77.32 (this specimen); SNG Cop. 238 (same dies); Traité I, pl. XVIII, 15 (same dies).
Nice old cabinet tone. Extremely fine
Provenance:
From an old Swiss collection started in the 19th century.
