LYSIMACHUS, king 323-281 BC. Tetradrachm, posthumous, uncertain mint (Lysimacheia ?), after 281. AR 16.93 g. Head of deified Alexander the Great r., wearing diadem and ram's horn of Zeus Ammon. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ - ΛYΣIMAXOY Athena, wearing long, sleeveless chiton, peplos and helmet, seated l. on throne, l. arm resting on large round shield, holding on her outstretched r. hand Nike crowning the royal name; in field l., two monograms. Scarce variant with bold portrait.
Large flan, overstruck and with light doublestriking. Extremely fine
