Heraclius (AD 610-641), and Heraclius Constantine. AV solidus (20mm, 4.34 gm, 5h). AU, clipped, scratches. Constantinople, 5th officina, ca. AD 616-625. dd NN hЄRACLIЧS T hЄRA CONST PP P AV, facing busts of Heraclius (on left), bearded, and Heraclius Constantine (on right), smaller and beardless, both wearing chlamys and simple crown with cross on circlet; cross above / VICTORIA-AVSЧ Є, cross potent on three steps; •CONOB below. Sear 738. Interesting blundering of the obverse legend in a series that is typically quite carefully engraved. Also, the pellet in the exergue is not known for this issue.
