Phocas (AD 602-610). AV solidus (21mm, 4.10 gm, 6h). About XF, clipped, scratches. Constantinople, 5th officina, AD 607-609. d N FOCAS-PЄRP AVG, crowned, draped and cuirassed bust of Phocas facing, globus cruciger in right hand / VICTORI-AVϚЧ Є, Angel standing facing, long staff terminating in staurogram in right hand, globus cruciger in left; CONOB in exergue. Sear 620. Unusually fine style, which is enigmatic since the reverse legend is missing the A in VICTORIA. Also, the flan is abnormally light, but no evidence of extensive clipping.
