Andronicus II Palaeologus (AD 1282-1328), with Michael IX. AV/EL hyperpyron (26mm, 4.06 gm, 5h). NGC MS 3/5 - 4/5, scratch. Constantinople, ca. AD 1294-1320. Half-length figure of the Virgin Mary, orans, within circuit of city walls with six towers; sigla: G-M / A/N/Δ/X/O-C/X/I/M/I/X/Λ, Christ, nimbate, wearing pallium and colobium, standing facing, IC-XC flanking head, crowning Andronicus II (on left) and Michael IX (on right) kneeling to either side, each wearing divitision and loros.
