Description

Frederik IV gold Ducat 1709 MS64 NGC, Copenhagen mint, KM487, Fr-224, Hede-16A (R), Sieg-45 (R). This beautiful Ducat holds the title of highest graded by either NGC or PCGS - and it is not difficult to see why. Even close inspection reveals no notable flaws to its surfaces, its fields illuminated through gorgeous semi-reflective luster, Frederik's portrait as sharp as can be with no loss of detail to the highpoints. The majority of the flan is rich honey gold in color, canary-yellow elements breaking through in areas and creating a superbly warm effect. Absolutely amongst the finest extant.
