Description

Republic Li Yuan-hung Dollar ND (1912) MS64 NGC, Tientsin mint, KM-Y320, L&M-43. Tripled Die Reverse. Laudable at every turn, and demonstrating a tremendous level of both visual appeal and technical quality, this impressive dollar offers ultra-satiny surfaces revealing multi-point luster, dressed in a regal silver patina that nearly floats over the surfaces, creating a pleasingly balanced presentation that is a true delight to experience in hand. We have previously only sold a single identically graded selection of the issue (Heritage Auction #3016, Lot 23669), and that coin achieved $20,700 including Buyer's Premium approximately 8 years ago in a time where the market for vintage Chinese coins was not nearly as strong as at the present. Further, we believe this offering presents vastly superior eye appeal, and we don't doubt it will serve as a possession of considerable pride for its future owner.
