Description

Ferdinand III gold 10 Ducat 1640 AU Details (Edge Filing) NGC, Prague mint, KM429 (under Bohemia), Fr-213. 34.51gm. Obv. Bare head, and armored, bust of Ferdinand III, right, as Holy Roman Emperor. Rev. Crowned double-headed eagle with Prague coat-of-arms, below is the symbol of Jakob W. Wolker, a hand holding a six-pointed star. A broad and impressive selection showcasing lustrous golden fields and an absolute minimum of wear, only mild friction throughout serving as any indication of prior circulation. Attractively detailed due to a clear strike, with even the small ornamentation within Ferdinand's clothing admirably expressed. A fine example of 17th century gold coinage.
