Description

Sigismund Bathori Taler 1595 MS62 PCGS, Dav-8804, Resch-198. Obv. Armored half-length portrait of Sigismund right, holding scepter. Rev. Crowned arms with supporters and date in legend. Well-struck, if somewhat off-center on the reverse, with great visual allure owed to a sharp rendering of the design, displayed with a resulting intricacy that yields ample room for appreciation. Each detail of Sigismund's bust exhibits admirable clarity down to even the smaller aspects of ornamentation, with a satiny argent texturing in the fields pointing to unmistakable quality of preservation.
