Description

Ferdinand VII gold 8 Escudos 1810 Mo-HJ MS63 PCGS, Mexico City mint, KM160, Fr-47. Boasting the highest grade level that this type has been assigned by either NGC or PCGS, and of a production standard leaps and bounds ahead of average. The strike for this type is so often soft on the obverse highpoints and reverse central shield, and yet here has been superbly rendered. The planchet is primarily a matte satin in texture, the peripheries a stark contrast as dual rings of lustrous brilliance. Warm, orange tone blushes in areas of the fields blending with the mustard-yellow of the host metal. Collectors of this ever-popular series will know all too well how difficult it is to obtain an example of this denomination in a choice grade, and as such this specimen is sure to attract significant bidder interest.
