CILICIA. Mallus. Ca. 440-385 BC. AR stater (22mm, 10.49 gm, 5h). NGC Choice VF 4/5 - 3/5. m'rln (Aramaic), winged male figure, a plume on his head, in kneeling/running stance right, holding solar disc with both hands / MAΛP, swan standing left, flapping its wings; locust upward to left. BMC 17 (pl. XVI, 13). SNG Levante -. SNG France 2, -. SNG von Aulock -. SNG Copenhagen -. Extremely rare, especially this variety with the swan flapping its wings. From a Private Japanese Collection.
