A beautiful presentation piece prepared for the Banco Mercantil de Santos, located along the coast south east of Sao Paulo. Although no banknotes were issued by this bank, these prototypes are a handsome representation of what could have been. Each uniface proof is mounted to a large cardstock for rigidity and presentation. The face proof has a hole punched cancellation. The design elements on this denomination are stunning, and any proof from this issuer is very rare today.
