This handsome, highest denomination issue is similar in serial number to the others offered in our auction. French colonies were isolated from their regular banknote printer during World War II, and had to rely on a variety of makeshift suppliers to meet currency demands. As such, this note was printed in Philadelphia by E.A. Wright Banknote Company. Minor stains are noted on this otherwise interesting and rarely seen banknote.
