Cuba Banco Nacional de Cuba 2 Pesos ND (1905) Pick 66 PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ. This impressive offering is from the first Banco Nacional de Cuba, which was privately owned and is separate from the official government entity that began issuing banknotes in 1949. This 1905 series of banknotes was ordered and delivered by the American Bank Note Company, but the bank lacked issuing authority. A few banknotes were accidentally issued, and the balance were immediately returned to Havana and destroyed. Luckily, this pack fresh example was saved to be enjoyed today. Currently there are only seven graded examples in the PMG Population Report and this is the finest graded of only two examples we have had the privilege of offering at auction.
