British North Borneo British North Borneo Company 10 Dollars 25.10.1909 Pick 5a PMG Choice Very Fine 35. Alfred Dent was the founder, and chairman of the British North Borneo Company in 1881. Today this former British Territory is known as Sabah, Malaysia. Mount Kinabalu can be seen on the face. Dates were handwritten, and handsigned, although various varieties exist. Interestingly, these notes issued for this Territory were handcut, and adds appeal to demonstrate the harshness, and remoteness of the area. These issues are of the utmost rarity, and this example is graded highest on the PMG census. The last sale record indicates a Very Good 8 having sold for just over $6,500 in 2016. This historic item is problem free, and an incredible find.
