Description

Edward III (1327-1377) gold Noble ND (1356-1361) VF Details (Plugged) NGC, London mint, Pre-Treaty Period, S-1490, N-1180. Crowned king with sword and shield standing facing in ship / Floriate cross with Є in central quadrilobe, cross potent mm. This Noble would have started life as a razor-sharp, well-struck piece on a flan of good metal; it has since been plugged at 12 o'clock and evenly worn. Nevertheless, it remains appealing to the eye and a satisfying representative of this pre-Treaty type.
