Alexander II Rouble 1868 CΠБ-HI MS63 NGC, St. Petersburg mint, KM-Y25, Bit-81. Simply gorgeous and utterly stunning in all respects, a blanket of marbled tones comprising lapis lazuli, navy, maroon, russet, cobalt and magenta over supremely lustrous and perhaps just slightly prooflike surfaces. Presently tied for the second finest of 39 examples of the date certified by NGC, it would hardly be an exaggeration to say that the coin at hand likely stands head and shoulders above its choice competition.
