China People's Bank of China 5 Yuan 1956 Pick 872s S/M#C283-43 Specimen PMG Choice Uncirculated 64. An attractive Specimen of the 1956 issue. Colors and small details were modified from the 1953 version because of tensions between China and the Soviet Union. Previously, the 3 and 5 Yuan denomination had their plates made in the Soviet Union. After the split, the 3 Yuan denomination was discontinued and plates of the 5 Yuan were made locally, resulting in this slightly modified design. PMG mentions pinholes on this example.
