A very interesting example of the largest denomination issued by the HSBC for Shanghai. This design was the first used for the long running series. Even though on issued versions, the date field was blank except for the "19" for the century, this example has the date engraved. The face uses the same color layout as the issued note, but the back on this Color Trial is a deeper brown color compared to the red on the issued note.
