George I gold 1/4 Guinea 1718 MS64 PCGS, KM555, S-3638. A gleaming, satin-lustered, and boldly struck example of this diminutive gold piece, issued for only one year each by two kings, in 1718 and again in 1762, and neither time was it much wanted by the public -- as too much purchasing value was held in a small, easily lost coin. This excellent specimen was among a group of pieces of the same kind found upon the demolition of a chimney in London in the 1980s. Being the best of the group, it found its way into the remarkable Terner Collection, and remains so designated on the grading insert. A tiny golden jewel! Ex.
