Weimar Republic "Lessing" 3 Mark 1929-A MS67 NGC, Berlin mint, KM60. A normally quite ubiquitous type that is very rarely found in such peak Mint State grades, the present example currently tied for the second finest certified across both NGC and PCGS, the single MS68 example achieving $1997 in our January 2016 New York Auction #3044 (lot 29549). The piece at hand, moreover, has to its credit an absolutely stunning palate of mottled russet and iridescent tones perfectly set over blemish-free, satiny surfaces. An absolute gem to be sure.
