Republic gold Kaalpond ND (c. 1900) Authentic NGC, Hern-Z56. Upset Rim variety. 7.98gm. A rare design-free issue that is generally considered to have circulated as specie at the beginning of Boer War. There are both rimless and upset rim varieties, though we note that this example, with rim, is of the scarcer type.
