George II silver "Royal Family" Medal 1732 AU (Lacquered), Eimer-528, MI-II-500/47. 69mm. Edge plain. By J. Croker and J. S. Tanner. An appealing large size medal featuring the seven children of George II and Caroline (minus one who died in infancy), supposedly the 'Hanoverian response to the Stuart family's claim of succession'. Displaying minor wear and a lacquer coating, a common practise by Victorian collectors to preserve the piece, lightly toned beneath the coat with a cobalt halo to the high-relief devices.
