Description

Victoria Proof Crown 1839 PR63 NGC, KM741, S-3882. Edge plain, coin alignment. A simply stunning offering from Victoria's Coronation Proof set, and (befittingly) her first Crown. Despite its already being at the choice grade level, its quality and eye appeal appear to transcend this technical certification; Victoria's portrait is sharply detailed and with hardly any contact marks, the fields glossy with matured reflectivity. Not only has this Crown been perfectly struck, but it has attained an even greater eye appeal through an exquisite cobalt tone to the recesses helping to punctuate the already-bold devices. It is difficult to imagine a finer example of this type in terms of eye appeal - an outstanding Proof, sure to attract a very strong bid. From the Lake County Collection
