Description

William IV gold Sovereign 1837 MS62 PCGS, KM717, S-3829B. An immensely difficult type to obtain in Mint State, partially due to the often soft strike to the high points of William's hair, and partially due to the long circulation life of this mintage. Nonetheless, this piece has somehow escaped significant handling and exhibits abundant mint luster in the fields, a definitive strike giving full detail to the sharp designs. The obverse shows some minor hairlines and marks in the fields holding it back from the choice Mint State level, but altogether this piece is a firm outlier for the issue and highly desirable thus.
