Description

Charles I (1625-1649) Crown ND (1625-1626) VF25 PCGS, Tower mint, Cross Calvary mm, KM125, S-2753, N-2190. Charles I's scarce first issue Crown. The pictures do not quite do Charles's equestrian portrait justice, as a combination of being shallowly struck with stormcloud toning means it only reveals its true depth of detail when tilted in the light. Slightly double-struck on the obverse with some annealing flaws on the reverse, otherwise pleasing and hard to obtain in decent grades.
