MACEDONIAN KINGDOM. Alexander III the Great (336-323 BC). AR tetradrachm (27mm, 16.99 gm, 12h). NGC XF 4/5 - 2/5, gouges. Early Ptolemaic issue of Memphis (or Alexandria), under Ptolemy I Soter, as satrap, ca. 332-323 BC. Head of Heracles right, wearing lion skin headdress, paws tied before neck / ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ, Zeus seated left on backless throne, right leg drawn back, feet on stool, eagle in right hand, scepter in left; head of Khnum right, wearing Isis crown in left field, AΔ monogram beneath strut. Price 3964. Fantastic Egyptian style dies.
