West Friesland. Provincial gold 1/2 Gulden 1737 MS61 NGC, KM150a, Delm-854 (R3). 6.91g. A fleeting off-metal issue, rarely, if ever, seen at auction. Appearing even finer than the grade may indicate, the planchet's highly reflective surfaces are only gently clouded in the open fields, and are seemingly absent of any noticeable detracting marks. With just a touch of amber tone to the crux of the crowned arms, a sun-gold tone radiates throughout, exuding originality. It is the first time we've handled this type, which correspondingly is the sole graded example, and is an opportunity of note for the discerning collector.
