Charioteer driving walking quadriga right, kentron in right hand, reins in left; Nike flying right above crowning horses, all on thick single ground line / ΣVRAKOΣION (counterclockwise and partially retrograde), diademed head of Arethusa right, wearing pearl taenia and beaded necklace, hair looped up under band; four dolphins swimming clockwise around. Overall excellent style true to Syracusan form. The legend blundering and execution of the portrait eye being the tell-tale signs of an imitation. Lovely rainbow toning.
