Gorinchem. City gold Imitative Rose Noble ND (1583-1591) MS64 NGC, Gorinchem mint, Fr-80, S-1952. 7.55gm. Struck in imitation of the gold Ryal (Rose Noble) issues produced under the reign of Edward IV, this type still bearing his name in the obverse legend. A conditionally scarce representative of this popular imitative type, a grade we haven't witnessed at our firm since 2020. The strike is nearly thorough, exuding a character of balance, further elevated in appeal by sparks of original bloom that linger on the flan. A great opportunity to acquire one of the finest extant of the type, as just a single representative ranks higher on the NGC census.
